I am not the same woman

I am not the same woman you encountered so long ago.
You see change is inevitable, change makes you grow.
Some changes are visible for the whole world to see.
Others, the important ones are shared by you and me.

You held tight to my hand as I traveled each mile.
Always encouraging and giving never losing that smile.
I am stronger, I am wiser, I am more self-assured.
I speak with confidence knowing I will be heard.

I am not the same woman not the same not at all.
I am proud, I am me, and today I stand tall.
The woman you see standing before you this day.
Is better for having known you each step of the way.
