FACE VALUE

I've been looking around awhile,
now I've found what I need.
Lonely bars and empty cars,
were only something inbetween.

You and I are an item.
A hot fireworks display.
How can I explain it all?
You'll just have to take what I say,
at face value.

Baby watch my lips.
They're repeating all the words,
that I hope you heard,
when I told you how it is.

There were moments of emptyness,
when no one seemed to care.
Situations badly handled,
that left me in dispair.

Now all of that's forgotten,
and it 'aint ever coming back.
You're the only woman on my mind,
and you're gonna' have to take the facts,
at face value.
