Mother

I know how hard it must have been
Bringing me into this world alone
That small feat within itself
Shows me you have always been strong

Determined to do what you thought was right
I am so very thankful that you gave me life
It shows me I was wanted
Despite all the many frustrations

Disagreements we did have
Especially when I was a teen
I'm grateful that you looked past that
I know sometimes I was very mean

But always in my heart I knew
That lessons you were trying to teach me
If I would only shut up long enough
To let the message reach me

I thank God everyday
For bringing a mother like you my way
Just wanted you to know
That I do love you so
